DAY 9: Ode to Running (Cardio, Cardio, Cardio)

(Sara running the RAGNAR)
Here is Sara's workout for today....This one's going to be a challenge for me not gonna lie...BUT I AM DOING SARA'S WORKOUTS EVERYDAY and I FEEL GREAT!!

Running day or Walking (with running intervals! )

ODE TO RUNNING!!
Running is one of the best types of full body exercise there is! Not only is running great for your cardiovascular system (heart and lungs!), IT’s FREE!!!  All you need is some time and a good pair of shoes and you can have a great workout. No special equipment or scheduled appointment needed, you can go out for a jog any time of day (or night… ,) and any place!  Running helps me burn off steam, is some time for me to think and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while breathing fresh air (hopefully, not during this inversion however…) The best part or running/cardio is you feel GREAT after !  Running is a high impact workout, which can be troublesome if you have bad knees or ankles but the good news is walking at an up tempo pace (faster than your average walk)  can give you a lot of the same cardiovascular benefits you get from running,  with less impact on your joints.  Running is a great way to see the world and have new adventures, just ask Forrest Gump J
TODAY, grab a friend, your stroller, husband, friends, kids, or head out by your lonesome (I like this way every once in a while!)  and GET MOVIN! You can head to a park with a trail, your neighborhood, your own treadmill or elliptical trainer, or just map out a route and get er done!
* If you are a runner (or at least aspire to be a good runner, like me!)  try to do between a 5K and 10K (between 3-6 miles)
*IF you are not into running (yet)  or can’t take the impact, get a good 2-3 miles of walking with a running interval every couple min, run/jog for as long as you can, then walk again.
Get a nice good sweat going and try challenging yourself a bit- get that last mile under your pace or jog a little longer each interval, maybe even throw in a SPRINT!!!  We all have inner strength just waiting to come to the surface and exercise is a great way to bring that out! ENJOY!!
